Pangaea is a fully licensed catering company in Vermont. All bar and service staff hold Vermont DLC certificates. We will help design your perfect bar. Bars based on a 5 hour open service. *All special requests are subject to Vermont availability.

FAQs

How far in advance should I start planning?

As soon as you say yes! Great venues book fast. Faster during the summer months. Saturdays in July and August, for example, are typically booked a year or two in advance. So, the earlier you start planning the better. We recommend that you start planning a minimum of six months in advance to ensure that you get everything you’re dreaming of.

What about a tasting?

Once you have made your first payment securing Pangaea as your caterer we will want to schedule a tasting. We will send a tasting planner to design a menu for you to taste from. At the tasting you will try everything to help narrow down your selections for the event.

Who comes to our tasting?

Typically it is the wedding couple. If there are more people involved in your planning process let us know and we will see what we can do.

What should we bring to our tasting?

Your appetite! And any information or materials that will help in planning your menu and table layout/design. Our event planning team, will be on hand to answer all your questions and discuss ingredients and cooking techniques as you wish. We recommend planning two to three hours for your tasting.

Do you take care of bar services?

Yes! Pangaea is a full-service catering company, which includes rentals and fully trained and insured bar staff. If you’re looking for something specific, please ask.

Do your prices include service staff and rentals?

If you would like, we tailor all catering packages to the event itself. We will send our questionnaire which helps us understand details like basic timeline, guest count, service style preferences, menu options, bar options, and more. From there, we will put together a customized catering proposal for you.

When do I need to confirm guest numbers?

We require final guest numbers 14 days prior to your event. After this date, we are still able to accommodate minor changes in guest numbers on a case-by-case basis.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs?

Yes! Our team has a great deal of experience handling all sorts of allergies and dietary restrictions. Let us know your requirements in advance and we will make the necessary adjustments to satisfy your guests.

Note that for very serious allergies, we cannot fully guarantee that your food is completely allergen free.

What service style do you offer?

We can do everything from elegant buffet, casual BBQ, family style platters to cocktail parties and interactive Chef’s Stations. However, our specialty is formal service, made-to-order plated meals. Inquire with our team to find the best option to suit your big day.

Who prints the menus?

Our menu proposals are sent with our preferred menu wording. However you will need to find someone to design and print them. We have some of our past favorites to share with you at your tasting.

Service Staff
We offer a wide range of event service styles. Our planning team will be sure to capture your vision and assemble the most fitting team for your event.

Off-Site Catering
This expense is applied to all of our catering services outside of our restaurant. It’s not easy to put a restaurant where there was no restaurant in a few hours.

Table Linens
We will work with you to find the best linen to suit your vision. We work with a few vendors and pass our cost along. The additional damage waiver fee covers typical wear and tear.

Rentals
Pangaea has a cache of great wares to host your party. If there is something we don’t have, we can connect you with other rental companies with larger selections.

Vendor Meals
No “bandwiches” here. We serve hot fresh meals for your band, DJ, photographers, and planners to make sure they have the nourishment they need to be at the top of their game for you.

Kids Meals
If you have humans under 10 looking for less refined fare, we can offer the same focus on ingredients while being a little more kid friendly. Please just let us know if they will be seated at the reception or if there is a designated location for them.
